I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)
he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:22, 23)

If Christ lives in you, so also will his love for the church. He died for his church and identifies with it. The church is also called the body of Christ. Christ founded the church to continue his mission on earth and you, as a member, are entrusted with that mission. You are the hands and feet of Jesus called to do his work and manifest his character in the world. You do not journey towards the Kingdom alone. Together you gain strength and encouragement along the way.

“For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. (Ephesians 5:29, 30)
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body (1 Corinthians 12:13).
